Our name
Why Akkad
AKKAD is named after the world's first empire.
Founded in Mesopotamia over 4,000 years ago, Akkad united separate city-states under one administration: one system of law, one standard of measurement, one structure of governance. That structure is what made it last. Long after the empire itself faded, the systems it built became the model the region kept building on.
We named our firm after that idea. Ambition is what starts a business. Structure is what lets it grow, and keeps it standing once it has. That is the work we do: building the strategy, governance and systems that turn ambition into something built to last.
AKKAD is led by a lawyer with experience across private practice, in-house counsel, and commercial and corporate advisory work. He is joined by professionals from finance, investment, procurement, IT & AI, governance and compliance, bringing more than 25 years of combined experience to every engagement.
Our icon is built from cuneiform-inspired forms: the 'A' chevron, the two structural pillars, and at the centre, the Arabic letter أ (alif with hamza), the first letter of Akkad.
